Floatify is developed by Mark Bruining. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at: schurkiedev@gmail.com
Reminders ("floats") you create — including title, message, date, time, color, and settings — are stored in the local storage of your device (Android SharedPreferences). This data leaves your device only if you enable Google Calendar sync or Google Drive sync (see sections 2c and 2d).
Your preferences such as bubble speed, quiet hours, vibration settings, shapes, per-app notification settings and the mode you chose (Simple or Advanced) are stored locally. They are not sent to a server of ours. If you enable Google Drive sync, your settings are included in the synced data (see 2d).
If you choose to connect your Google account, Floatify uses:
Imported events are stored locally on your device. Floatify does not share your calendar data with anyone. You can revoke access at any time (see section 6). Google's own privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If you enable Drive sync, Floatify stores a copy of your floats and settings in the hidden App Data folder of your own Google Drive, so they can be shared between your devices. Only Floatify, signed in with your account, can read this folder. It does not appear in your normal Drive files and we, as the developer, have no access to it. Floatify requests only the Drive "app data" permission, not access to your other Drive files.
If you grant Notification access, Floatify can turn notifications of the apps you select into floats, for example chat messages. Floatify reads the notification content (such as sender and message text) on your device to show it in the float and to let you reply from the float. Replies are sent through the original app. This content is processed on your device only and is never sent to us or to any third party by Floatify. You can switch Notification access off at any time in Android settings.
Floatify can list the apps installed on your device so you can choose which apps' notifications become floats and give each app its own shape. If you grant Usage access, Floatify uses it to detect which app is currently in the foreground, so floats can behave correctly. This information stays on your device.
Text you share to Floatify from another app is turned into a float on your device. Home screen widgets show your floats and to-dos from local data. The "add to calendar" action hands the float's title, description and time to your calendar app through Android's standard screen; you decide there whether to save it.
Floatify uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications related to calendar sync. FCM may transmit a device token to Google's servers for the purpose of delivering notifications. No personal content from your reminders is transmitted via FCM. Google's privacy policy applies: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
If you pair Floatify with a Wear OS watch, reminder data is transmitted to your watch using the Wearable Data Layer API (Google Play Services). This transfer happens between your phone and watch. No data is sent to our servers.
The Simple (free) version of Floatify shows an ad banner provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, Google may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and information about ad interactions. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Floatify asks for your consent before ads are loaded, using Google's consent form, and you can change your choice later via "Ad privacy options" in Settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads). Buying Advanced removes the ad banner. Google's policies apply: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Advanced is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. Payment details are processed by Google; Floatify never sees or stores your card or payment information. Floatify asks Google Play which purchases belong to your Google account in order to unlock Advanced (also after reinstalling), and stores a local flag on your device that Advanced is unlocked. The purchase is tied to your Google account.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties. The only third-party services involved are provided by Google LLC, and only for the features described above:
Reminder and settings data is stored on your device. You can delete it at any time by going to Settings → Apps → Floatify → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app. Clearing data does not remove your Advanced purchase; it is tied to your Google account and can be restored with "Restore purchase". If you used Drive sync, the copy in your Drive App Data folder stays until you delete it in Google Drive (Settings → Manage apps → Floatify → Delete hidden app data).
If you have connected a Google account, you can revoke Floatify's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Notification access and Usage access can be turned off in Android settings.
Floatify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
